The technique used here is that of the “wet cyanotype” photogram. The insects that I use in my creations come from “waste” from old entomological collections, they were destined to end up in the trash: I thus give them a second life. Each insect is placed on the fabric previously prepared with the solution to create the cynaotype, the whole is then sprayed with water, lightly pressed so as not to crush them and exposed for a long time to the sun until saturation, the fabric is then rinsed and dried in the shade. Only the ghostly trace of the insect remains on the fabric, like the Shroud, they are eternal and are therefore unique and non-reproducible.
